Before you trust me with your memories, you should probably get to know me

I’m so glad you’re here. Now let me tell you why I do this.

I picked up a camera and apparently never put it back down...

What started with a whole lot of trial and error quickly turned into an obsession with capturing the good stuff... the people, the moments and all the little bits in between.

Somewhere between photographing my own little family and being trusted with everyone else’s, I realised I’d stumbled across something pretty bloody special.

I want the toddler who is running feral. The baby who only wants Mum. The dad who reckons he absolutely hates photos. The belly laughs, the cuddles, the chaos, the dirty feet and the moments that happen when everyone forgets I’m even holding a camera.

That’s the good stuff.

Get to Know Me

I’m a bit of a mixed bag.

I was 15 months postpartum, completely bloody lost, and trying to figure out what the hell came next.

I’d just finished up FIFO after having HG throughout my pregnancy. FIFO was all I’d ever really known. Working in the dirt, long days, plenty of yarns with the old boys and a pretty different life to the one I was suddenly living as a mum.

Photography had always been something I loved. I’d been taking photos throughout school and mucking around with a camera as a hobby for years, but it genuinely never occurred to me that I could actually do something with it.

Turns out, I could.

I know how quickly it goes

I know what it feels like to look at your baby and wonder how the hell they got so big, so quickly. And I know how easy it is to spend your days doing the washing, packing lunches, wiping bums and making sure everyone else is fed, while somehow never getting in the bloody photos yourself.

That’s a huge part of why I do this.

I want you to have photographs that feel like your family. Not just pretty pictures for the wall, but little time capsules of the people you were, the relationships you had and all the tiny things you probably don’t realise you’ll miss until they’re gone.

Outside of photography, I’m a bit of a mixed bag. I can happily have drum and bass absolutely belting in the car one minute and Randy Travis the next. I’m a country girl at heart, I love a good yarn, and I’ll take a paddock, muddy feet and golden hour over anything overly polished.

And while we’re on the subject of families, I will die on the hill that blokes secretly love photos just as much as mums do. They might tell you they don’t want them, but give me five minutes to take the piss out of them and suddenly they’re bloody loving it. Half the time, Dad ends up being my biggest fan.
